Introduction
This lesson covers three closely-connected pillars of Bangla grammar (ব্যাকরণ) that appear in almost every competitive exam — Sentence (বাক্য), Voice / Vachya (বাচ্য), and Change of Speech / Narration (উক্তি পরিবর্তন).
- Sentence teaches you how words combine into a complete meaningful unit and how sentences are classified.
- Vachya teaches you which element of a sentence (the doer, the deed, or the action) is being emphasized, and how to transform one form into another.
- Change of Speech teaches you how to convert a person's exact words (direct speech) into a reported form (indirect speech).
For BCS, Bank and IT-officer written and MCQ papers, examiners love these three because each has clear, rule-based transformations that can be tested objectively. Master the rules and you can answer almost any question mechanically and confidently.
Learning objectives
- Define a sentence and state the three qualities of a well-formed sentence: আকাঙ্ক্ষা, আসত্তি, যোগ্যতা.

- Define বাচ্য and distinguish কর্তৃবাচ্য, কর্মবাচ্য, ভাববাচ্য and কর্মকর্তৃবাচ্য.
- Apply the step-by-step rules to convert between voices.
- Define উক্তি, distinguish প্রত্যক্ষ (direct) and পরোক্ষ (indirect) speech, and apply the pronoun / tense / adverb-shift rules.
