Bank IT posts are filled in two ways. Bangladesh Bank recruits for itself, and the Bankers' Selection Committee (BSC) runs one combined exam for the state-owned and specialised banks. Officer and Senior Officer (IT) papers mix general sections with a large subject share, while Assistant Programmer and Assistant Maintenance Engineer papers are almost all subject questions.
ব্যাংকের আইটি পদে নিয়োগ হয় দুইভাবে: বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক নিজে নিয়োগ দেয়, আর ব্যাংকার্স সিলেকশন কমিটি রাষ্ট্রায়ত্ত ও বিশেষায়িত ব্যাংকগুলোর জন্য একটি সমন্বিত পরীক্ষা নেয়। অফিসার ও সিনিয়র অফিসার (আইটি) পরীক্ষায় সাধারণ অংশের সঙ্গে বিষয়ভিত্তিক অংশ বেশি থাকে; সহকারী প্রোগ্রামার ও সহকারী মেইনটেন্যান্স ইঞ্জিনিয়ার পরীক্ষা প্রায় পুরোটাই বিষয়ভিত্তিক।

Bangladesh Bank has not published an exam pattern for Assistant Director (ICT): its 2026 circular (52/2026, 69 posts) says only "preliminary and/or written, then viva". Its past papers below show what it asks.

For AME / AE (IT) the 150 subject marks were split by topic: computer architecture and microprocessor, networking, operating systems, electrical and electronics, internet, web and cyber security, digital system design, data centre and cloud, and banking information systems 15 each; data communication, web applications, and IS policy, compliance and audit 10 each.

How to prepare · প্রস্তুতি
- Know which pattern your post follows: Officer and Senior Officer papers give 40% of the MCQ to Bangla, English, maths and general knowledge; AP and AME papers give 75% to the subject.
- Put networking, programming and database first: together they are the largest share of our bank papers.
- Practise written answers of about 10 marks each: a definition, a short explanation, then a diagram, table or worked example.
- Solve two or three recent BSC papers under time, and keep the negative marking in mind.
